Vulcans' swimmers Sophie Allen, Mollie Temple and Hayley Williams have travelled to Leeds to continue their racing in the British Gas Swimming Grand Prix - featuring many returning GB swimmers from the World Championships in Rome and a strong team of swimmers from Canada.
Day one heats saw Sophie Allen taking a place in the A final of the Women's 50 breaststroke with 32.29 and team-mate Hayley Williams taking a place in the B final with 32.94.
In the finals session both girls swam near PBs of 32.52 and 32.96 respectively - strong swimming in a very competitive field. Sophie also took top seed position in the B final of the Women's 200 IM in a heat time of 2.14.66 while Mollie Temple posted a new short course personal best time of 2.22.43 to compliment her new long course PB set in Sheffield last week.
When the evening session arrived Sophie was moved into the A final of the 200 IM where she swam a superb race improving on her 10th position seeding to come 6th overall with a two second improvement over her heat time with 2.12.36.
Great swims more tomorrow.
