A fine swim today from Sophie Allen in the heats of the Women's 200 breastroke. Sophie brought home an almost 4-second PB on her short course entry time of 2.34.04 (achieved in Stockholm last November) to claim her place in the A final this evening with an impressive 2.30.58.

Hayley Williams then followed suit in the Womens's 100m IM where she also achieved a near 2-second PB lowering her lifetime best from an entry time of 1.07.54 to 1.05.94 to take her place in the B final tonight.

In their respective finals both swimmers maintained the earlier improvements to their personal best performances with a repeat swim from Sophie to within hundredths of a second of her earlier swim with 2.30.61 and a further tenth of a second PB for Hayley Williams - posting 1.05.83.

Superb swimming - more tomorrow.........
