British Gas Swimming Championships 2012 (Selection Trials)
The entries are now closed and line-ups complete as swimmers from across the nation target qualifying times for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. With sell-out crowds of up to 30,000 people at the London Aquatics Centre the drama will unfold over 8 days from 3rd to 10th March.
Amongst the hopeful swimmers is Lincoln Vulcan, Braddan Westlake, who will be competing in the 200m Backstroke. Brad qualified for the trials at last year's Nationals and has continued to improve his time with a 4-second personal best swim at the Midland Short Course Championships in December.
Head Coach, Fred Furniss, commented "We are delighted with Brad's progress and qualification for the Selection Trials. Brad will be swimming amongst some very strong competition and I am sure he will step up and perform at his very best in the trials. Everyone at Lincoln Vulcans will be cheering him on."
Also competing are former Vulcan swimmers Sophie Allen, Kate Haywood, Jennifer Oldham, Lizzie Simmonds, Jack Burnell, William Jolly and Adam Mallett.
We wish everyone all the very best for the trials and look forward to seeing Vulcans past and present at many more major tournaments.
