Olympic Trial for Brad produces personal best

Lincoln Vulcans swimmer, Brad Westlake, experienced the big time this week when he took part in the British Olympic Trials at the London Aquatic Centre. Swimming in the 200 backstroke, he posted a long course personal best of 2:08.23.

Brad (16) was accompanied by his family (including sister, Maya, who also swims with the Vulcans) and Head Coach, Fred Furniss. Fred commented that the experience, although daunting, would be invaluable in Brad's progress and the trip presented a great opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the new pool ahead of the Olympic Games in July.

Congratulations to Brad and all the former Vulcan swimmers who took part in the trials - everyone at the club will cheering on those who made the team and we look forward to many more swimmers progressing to Olympic standard!
