2009 NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS: day five report
Today saw Hayley Williams, Jack Burnell and William Jolly back in action in Sheffield. Hayley started with 200m breaststroke where she swam a little under her recent long course PB of 2.47 with a 2.50.50.
This was followed with a strong heat swim in the 50 backstroke - a performance that ranked her 7th fastest of the 15 year old swimmers with a time of 31.81 - a finger tip away from her PB of 31.53.
Jack Burnell followed later in the 1500m freestyle - unfortunately Jack didn't hit his entry time but posted a respectable 16.32.66 and made him the 4th fastest 16 year old in the field today.
Will Jolly swam a second outstanding distance event to add to his earlier 800m freestyle performance on Thursday. Will swam a fantastic 17 second PB over his entry time to bring him 4th place in the 17/18 years category with an impressive 16.05.01.
Good luck to all for the final day.
