Leonardo Sprints Report

27 May, 2019

Our first sponsored event got underway with the Leonardo club sprints gala which took place on Saturday 13th April at North Kesteven sports centre.  It was the first competition for some of our youngest swimmers aged just 8 and introduced them to the thrill of competitive swimming. The age range spanned from 8 to 48 years old and it was quite evident that our 48yr olds can be just as nervous as our youngsters!  We had a total 98 swimmers taking part in the event and nearly 200 spectators supporting their young swimmers.  The dedicated efforts of the swimmers throughout the year in perfecting their techniques was rewarded with numerous PB’s and County qualifying times being achieved during the event which consisted of 50m swims across all 4 strokes.

Well done to all the swimmers who took part and we are looking forward to hearing how our swimmers progress throughout the year in preparation for our second Leonardo Club Sprints in November 2019.

Finally, once again many thanks to the club volunteers for sacrificing their own time to support this event, without their efforts, these events would not happen.
